Average cost of living in New York & Montreal | USCANADAVLOG

No mystery, the average cost of living in New York is pretty high. They lay out some of the highest income taxes in the nation, with hefty levies at both national and municipal governments, before the average NYC resident salary ever hits the bank. Furthermore, potential people encounter some of the country’s most inexpensive homes. For inhabitants of New York that want to be at the center and live in Manhattan, that is especially true.

If you are renting in New York:

It begins with an insane housing market with the high average cost of living in New York. The medium rent in the New York City apartment for a two-bedroom apartment is $2,499, according to a March 2019 study by Apartment List. Studio flats and 1-bedroom apartments are available for $1,889 and a month of $2,098.

Each rent is far costlier than the median US and most of the major cities in the world. The apartment Data list shows the national median rental to $827, $947 and $1,175, respectively, for studios, one-bedroom and two bedrooms. This is a $1,062 difference for a studio, a $1,151 difference for an apartment with one bedroom, and, finally, a $1,324 difference for a two-bedroom apartment.

If you want to buy a house in New York:

Wherever you are, the classical problem of “purchase vs rent” constantly comes up. For New York City, a single-family house in the New York metro region, according to 2018 statistics from the National Association of Realtors, had a median sales price of $403,900. While it might seem beneficial, remember that it’s not just the city of New York itself, but also the surrounding areas. The cost of shopping for a one-bedroomed apartment in Manhattan might be significantly more costly, especially when you wish to reside in the town center.

Average cost of living in Montreal

It would be less a shocking thing to read about what’s similar in Montreal since it really looks…affordable? If you haven’t heard of 20 things that you need to know before coming to Montreal, you could have missed the point that it was recognized as one of the 50 greatest towns in the world with affordability. It’s still a surprise that, as much as we live here, the city is always filled with events, new restaurants, pubs and festivals, as most of us, don’t finish up broke down after all.

It is maybe the hard winter season that allows us to save a bit to fully benefit from the good weather when we really do, but for whatever reason, when it comes to piggy banks, Montréal is a relatively Young Professional (YP).

Here’s the cost of living in Montreal if you don’t want to spend more than you can.

So you must make at least $30K per year in order to have anything left in your chequing account if you pay your normal Quebec taxes. Montreal may be a highly cost-effective city in so many ways, but don’t forget that our list does not include shopping balls, toiling, debts, poutine binges, vehicle bills, clothing, etc (and so on).

On the other hand, New York is also well-known for its sporting teams. You’ll have to pay $87 and $190 on average if you want to see a game called Brooklyn Nets or New York Knicks. Both Yankees and Mets games can be checked by baseball enthusiasts. The average Mets ticket is $27.60 and Yankees’ average is $47.62 in the 2018 season.

At least one choice is available for affordable amusement for New Yorkers. On a characteristic Saturday night, the metro stations around the city are stages for all sorts. Whether you favor classical, jazz, hip hop, or blues, whatever you like is likely to be.
