In Canada, a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Canada Tourist Visa is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office and placed in your passport to prove that you have satisfied the conditions for entrance as a temporary resident (either as a visitor, a student or a worker).

Canada tourist visa or visitor visa can be applied in 2 ways, 1. online and 2. in-person. I’d suggest doing it online since it’ll be a simpler and faster procedure. Yet, still, you can decide a better option for you.

3. Pay the required and correct fees
4. Submit your application – online or in-person.

What are the Canada Tourist Visa Requirements:

For a Canadian visiting visa, there are a number of fundamental conditions that must be met. Included on the list are:

• You must have a valid travel document (passport).
• To be in good health condition.
• You have no criminal or immigration-related convictions.
• Must prove that you have ties such as a job, home, financial assets, or family that prove your returning to your home country after your Canada visit.
• Need to prove that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit within time period.
• Must have enough money for your stay which depends on where and how long you stay.

Supporting Documents:

Your visa application must include a list of needed papers, regardless of whether you apply online or in person. There is a document checklist you can follow. Also, Documents include: 

• Canada Tourist Visa application form – IMM 5257 – fully completed and signed
• Passport – valid for at least 6 months past your trip with 2 blank pages
• The originals or copies of all cancelled or expired passports (if applicable for you)
• Name and birthdate written on the back of 2(two) pictures. Read the full photo requirements. NOT REQUIRED if you are providing biometrics.
• In the nation where you now reside, provide proof of legal residency (if not your home country)
• Travel authorization letter (if the applicant is a minor) including parent (s) passport
• And finally, Visa fees

The above documents must be used in conjunction with the document checklist IMM 5484 and it needs to be placed on top of your application pack, so don’t forget to do this.

Read these instructions very carefully!

For Bangladeshi candidates, the following papers must be provided:

1. Birth certificate copy
2. Marriage certificate copy
3. Itinerary details for your trip to Canada – transportation arrangements (airline and hotel booking)
4. Proof of previous travel to Canada within the last 10 years (if applicable)
5. Deposit slips, paystubs, or other proof of income (such as a pension check). A letter signed by the person who will be paying for your trip and copies of their passports, together with a copy of their bank statement, are required if the trip is not being paid for by you. If possible, documents should be dated within the previous three months.
6. Visiting family/friends – letter of invitation stating purpose and duration of your trip; proof of relationship; inviter’s citizenship/immigration document
7. Proof of employment – a letter stating company’s contact details, your position, date of hire, salary, and approval of absence. If you are self-employed – evidence of your business e.g. business registration etc.

** Make sure you have all the necessary paperwork. Ensure you have everything you need before submitting your application by double-checking.

**Please note, you must include a certified translation for any document that is not in English.

Canada Visitor Visa Fees:

Canada Visitor visa (including super visa) – per person CAD $100  (BDT – 6,600) 

Biometrics (per person) – CAD $85 (BDT- 5,610) 

Processing Time for Canada Tourist Visa:

If you are applying from Bangladesh, it takes around 33 days to complete your visa processing.

Step by Step Process for Online application:

To learn more about the application process, visit the IRCC’s website and click like the following to apply by yourself:

1. Follow & click like this: “Menu” – “Immigration and citizenship” – “Visit”
2. Then under “Services and information”, please click on “Apply for a visitor visa“
3. After that, click on “Apply”
4. Scroll down to “How do you want to apply” and choose “Online” and click on “Get instructions“
5. Next page, there is a link for the instruction guide that will guide you through the application process in detail. If you are ready to get started, click on “Apply for a visitor visa“
6. Important: You will have to create a GCKEY account.
7. Then, you can sign in with your user name & password and begin your application for Canada Visitor Visa.
